Dr. Thomas Brinz holds a PhD in chemistry from the University of Ulm (1993), with a thesis on liquid-crystalline polymers. He began his professional career in corporate research at Robert Bosch GmbH, concentrating on functional materials. In 2003 he founded Bosch Lab Systems, a unit dedicated to high-throughput automation for formulation development. Between 2009 and 2025 he led Engineering Pharma Service and the OSD Customer Center—initially at Bosch Packaging Technology and subsequently at Syntegon Technology. In early 2026 he joined Syntegon Pharma Solid’s Business Development team, where he supports customers in OSD processes, primarily in R&D. He is passionate about applying automation and process optimization to accelerate formulation development and improve scale-up reliability
