Stefano Cucuzza is a biochemist and holds a PhD from the University of Zurich in biochemistry & biophysics. During his work in academia, he helped develop and engineer a novel class of antibody-mimetics (Armadillo repeat proteins) through biophysical and computational methods. He joined Novartis in 2022 in the technical research and development division as a postdoctoral researcher in the drug product development group, where he developed alternative surfactants for biopharmaceuticals, employing a diverse array of computational, chemical, biochemical, and biological methods. Stefano holds the role of senior modelling expert, and his work is focused on augmenting protein design, developability and formulation development with in silico tools. He is passionate about science, particularly about method development and innovation, and he is the author of several scientific publications. Additionally, he is a talented speaker who enjoys the art of scientific communication directed to a non-technical audience.
