Dr. Christian Mühlenfeld leads Life Sciences R&D for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa at Ashland, with a focus on polymer‑based excipient solutions for oral and parenteral dosage forms. He has extensive experience in oral solid dosage form development, including bioavailability enhancement, drug stabilization, immediate and modified release systems, and advanced manufacturing technologies such as continuous manufacturing and 3D printing. Christian has authored and co‑authored numerous scientific publications and book chapters and has delivered more than 50 posters, presentations, and invited lectures at international conferences. He served for 10 years on European Pharmacopoeia expert committees and currently chairs the Cellulose Ethers Expert Committee, contributing to global pharmaceutical standards.
