Tiago Porfirio Fonseca is an Associate Director in the Material Science team, part of the Pharmaceutical Development at Novartis. Joining the company in 2023, Tiago has over a decade of experience in Particle Engineering, with a focus on milling and spray drying. His research primarily centers on model-based methodologies to accelerate spray drying process development. Tiago has also developed several products with different applications such as amorphous solid dispersions and inhalation, and is now focused on new mixed modalities. Tiago holds a Ph.D. in Engineering Design and Advanced Manufacturing from the University of Lisbon and is a Chemical Engineer by training.
