Innovation in excipient technology is critical for advancing the formulation science of poorly soluble drugs. The session will focus on two novel polymeric excipients designed to solubilize high drug loading and compatible with common processing techniques. Apisolex™ excipient technology offers a novel solution for enhancing the solubility of hydrophobic drugs in injectable/parenteral formulations. Apinovex™ polymers have been developed for oral use to stabilize active pharmaceutical ingredients as amorphous solid dispersions. Case studies will illustrate the solubilization performance of Apisolex™ and Apinovex™ for both established and experimental active pharmaceutical ingredients, at various concentrations, in comparison with other solubilizers, highlighting the potential of these excipients to enable development of poorly soluble drugs into effective pharmaceutical therapies.
