Professor Tomasz Osmałek is a graduate of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Poznan University of Medical Sciences. Initially, his interests were related to photochemical properties and stability of drugs. In 2010, he defended doctoral thesis on the spectroscopic analysis of macrocyclic compounds with photosensitizing properties with potential application in photodynamic therapy of skin cancers. He continued scientific activity in the Chair and Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, of which he is currently the head. His research areas focus on the design of dermal and transdermal drug delivery systems as well as the development of modified-release oral formulations. He is the supervisor of the Student Chapter of ISPE Poland. He completed internships at Rutgers University, University of Central Florida, University of Ljubljana, University of the Basque Country, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and pharmaceutical companies such as APC Ltd. and Physiolution GmbH. Privately a big fan of motorcycles, gardening and winter swimming.
