Dr Kaasalainen is an experienced scientist with an extensive background in nanoparticle formulation development and characterization for novel, repurposed, and already marketed drug substances. He completed his PhD in Material Physics at the University of Turku, Finland, focusing on producing mesoporous silicon nanoparticles for drug delivery applications and light scattering based characterization methods. Before joining Nanoform, he spent 3 years as a postdoctoral researcher at King's College London, developing novel active nanomaterials for tissue engineering applications. During his career, Dr Kaasalainen has published 28 articles in peer-reviewed journals. Dr Kaasalainen is responsible of leading small molecule formulation, method development, and innovation activities at Nanoform.
