Martin Huelsmeyer is chemist by training and received his PhD in Structural Biology from Technical University Braunschweig, Germany. Prior joining Abbvie in 2012, he held positions in academia at University of Würzburg, Technical University Berlin, University Hospital Charité Berlin and was employed at biotech company Pieris near Munich discovering and developing scaffold molecules. At Abbvie he is part of the NBE Formulation development team establishing AbbVie’s robotized High Throughput Formulation line. He is responsible for the design of HTS screening concepts and the introduction of new formulation approaches such as liquid ultra-high concentration presentations. He supports numerous strategic development initiatives covering a broad range of molecular modalities and therapeutic areas. He relies on a comprehensive analytical and technical knowledge and has broad expertise in excipient properties including area of application, incompatibilities, liabilities, and toxicological aspects. Martin is also strongly engaged in stability modeling and shelf-life predictions of biologics establishing advanced kinetic modeling at AbbVie.
